Milk from cows who graze on grass appears to be more heart healthy than milk from cows fed on grain feedlots, a new study has found. That’s because cows who eat grass produce five times as much of the beneficial fat called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) as grain-fed cows. Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that people with the highest levels of CLA had a 36 percent less chance of developing heart disease when compared to those with the lowest CLA levels. CLAs may also help prevent some cancers and diabetes.
